Tawnya Lee Schultz, Founder and Chief

After winning Little Miss Eastside at age 5, the youngest contestant ever to win, Tawnya knew she was destined for greatness. While her original dreams were focused on singing and dancing on "Kids Incorporated" for a living, she realized being a snowboard bum was her true calling and headed to Tahoe.

Tawnya has since established herself in the editorial realm working with companies such as SNOWBOARD Magazine, Transworld Snowboarding, Snowboarder, Burton and many more. With her incredible skills and knowledge Tawnya started Tahoe Snowboard Magazine in 2009 to bring a zine to the area that truly represents the culture. Her love for Tahoe and snowboarding goes hand and hand and she hopes to share that with the readers. Feel free to stalk her via email at tawnya@tahoesnowboardmag.com and on Twitter @tawnyaschultz.

Kara Mukina, Sales and Marketing

Kara was born bleeding black and gold so don’t mess with her on a game day. Deep down she always wanted to be on the cheer squad so she’ll tear up a dance floor, and if you’re lucky enough she’ll sing her heart out to AC/DC, hence the nickname Kara-o-kee.

Her PA roots introduced her to snowboarding on a little hill called Mt.View. It was definitely not a mountain and there was no view of one in sight. Like many East Coasters she found her way out west. After a year in Mammoth, she made her way up to Tahoe where she fell in love with the riding and lifestyle. She has been standing sideways for 15 years and spent five years in the competition circuit. Hit her up with any sales and marketing inquisitions at kara@tahoesnowboardmag.com or Twitter @KaraMukina.

Not a whole lot to say right now... Let's just leave it at that (until I can think of something good). :)

Been doing this thang ( shredding/shooting/living this life) for longer than many shreds have been alive. I love snowboarding and truly feel like it has more than saved my life.. It has shaped my life.
